Mopani Rest Camp guarantees a wildlife safari in Kruger Park like no other, with guided 4x4 game drives and bush walks available.
At Mopani Rest Camp, you have a choice of twice-daily game drives led by experienced tracker-guides who know the reserve like the back of their hand. And while you can indeed head out on your own self-drive excursions, their bush-wisdom is hard to top and they’ll show you more in two hours what you’ll most likely see on your own in double that time. Dedicated bush walks are also available in the mornings.
Since Mopani Rest Camp overlooks the Pioneer Dam, you’re guaranteed a plethora of bird sightings on your wildlife safari in Kruger Park. Waterbirds like storks, egrets, kingfishers and African Fish Eagles are common and will quickly be ticked off from your list. The huge baobab tree located on-site also lures in a variety of feathered friends, such as Mosque and Wire-tailed swallows.
Mopani Rest Camp is brimming with wildlife, that much is true. There is always something to catch your eye here, be it birds flittering above, or little beasties like impala and warthog grazing below. The area is also particularly rich in indigenous plant life such as Mopane and Red Bushwillow trees so when you’re in the mood to stretch out your legs, lace up your trainers and go explore the grounds.
