Splendid Comfort - Activities
Mabula Private Game Reserve, Limpopo

The Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp is situated in one of South Africa’s most prestigious private game reserves, offering guests a world-class authentic safari experience.

Game Viewing

The territories of the Mabula Game Reserve are diverse and are home to a large selection of animals that include the Big 5 as well as numerous other species such as hyena, cheetah, jackal, Eland, Blesbok and more than 300 bird species.

Twice-daily game drives are conducted from the luxury tented accommodation in the Mabula Game Reserve. The first drive of the day leaves during the early morning and once again in the late afternoon as the sun sets over the breathtaking escarpment. Each game drive is conducted by a very knowledgeable game ranger who will share his vast knowledge of the area with you.

Eco Adventure Safari - Quad Bike

If you are looking for something slightly more exciting than a traditional game drive you can choose to explore the tranquil surrounds of the beautiful reserve from a quad bike.

Qualified guides can show you some of the smaller game as you traverse the 10, 000 hectare game reserve on a semi automatic quad bike. The trail takes 1 ½ hours and departs at set interval times during the day.

Guided Stargazing

Take a 1 ½ hour drive at night and discover some of South Africa’s night sky constellations. Your guide will share with you some of the traditional tales, myths and legends as he points out the key markers of the heavens.

Horseback Safari

Get up close and personal to the African wildlife astride your horse. Qualified horse trail guides will take you out into the reserve after a briefing and some riding tips. Remember to pack some long trousers and closed shoes.

Bush Dining

You can look forward to intimate dining experiences at Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp as the resident chef prepares signature South African dishes with creative flair.  Feel right at home as the informal meal times lend a homely atmosphere at the camp.

Savour the early morning sunshine with breakfast served on the deck while dinner is enjoyed in the traditional outdoor Boma with the stars in the sky and the call of an owl to keep you company. Linger around the fire, with a drink in hand as you share tales of animal encounters with your fellow travellers.

All special dietary needs are catered for with ease and a well-stocked bar is waiting to quench your thirst with a variety of imported and local wines, beers, spirits and cold drinks.
