Wildlife Game Drives
Game drives set-off into the bush twice a day to track wildlife including the renowned Big Five as well as a variety of predators and general game, including cheetah, kudu, springbok, eland, red hartebeest, giraffe, black wildebeest and gemsbok.
Here, in this private game reserve in the Eastern Cape Province, the rangers work together with a tracker who looks for signs of wildlife by tracking animal spoor, dung, and the unique sounds of the bush. The 4x4 vehicles are comfortable, open and high enough to present good game viewing and opportunities for photography.
Game Walking Safaris
Bush walking safaris at the game reserve are conducted by armed and professional game guides to ensure each and everyone's safety. Unique animal encounters are made during a walk into the African wilderness. Delve into the stories of the bushveld you’ve never heard before – the often overlooked species, the medicinal uses of plants and trees, the secret habits of mammals in the wild – an indulgence not enjoyed from the comfort of a 4X4 vehicle.
This is the perfect opportunity for bird watching as you can get a closer look while moving quietly on foot. The walk lasts 3 to 4 hours; not suitable for children under 16 years of age.
Specialist Safaris
This game reserve offers specialised safari experience that can be tailored to your interests. The photographic safari can be tailor-made to suit the experience level of the participants. The experienced photographic guide will advise you of the appropriate camera settings and lenses, and will get you up close to some of the local wildlife for some hands on practical experience.
Opt for your own private safari, with vehicle and ranger to go on a specialised rhino conservation drive, fishing safari, birding experience or private walking safari option with your own personal guide.
Fishing
Fishing enthusiasts at the game reserve can delight in a morning of fishing on the banks of the Fish River or from the reserve's largest dam. Try your hand at catching largemouth Bass.
Please note that all fishing done is on a catch-and-release basis, with rangers on hand to offer some basic tuition and skills. A wonderful activity for the whole family.
