Most people are familiar with Jock of the Bushveld, a South African classic written in 1907 by Sir Percy Fitzpatrick.
Located in the South-Western corner of the Kruger National Park, occupying 6, 000 hectares of natural landscape and pays homage to the famous canine legend. This Kruger Park safari accommodation offers 12 secluded thatched suites veiled by lush trees and reed walls, providing absolute privacy.
Each suit leads out to a private deck with plunge pool and “sala” (outdoor daybed). The views of the riverbed makes this the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some nature viewing without even leaving the lodge. You will want to leave for the morning and evening game drives which provide a good dose of added adventure.
Out in the wilderness you can view leopards, lion, hyena, buffalo, elephant, zebra and a vast array of buck. Why not move at the pace of nature on a bush walk, where your tracker-guide will teach you all about the smaller creatures as well as the important uses of trees, plants and herbs. In the evenings, low lighting, oil lanterns and stories about Jock are enjoyed in the outdoor boma (enclosure) which adds to the charm of this Kruger Park safari accommodation.
This is an experience highly recommended for couples and honeymooners however, children from 6 years and up are welcome at the main lodge.
