Kogelberg Nature Reserve

Kogelberg Nature Reserve is arguably the most beautiful and the most unspoiled bit of nature that you can find this close to Cape Town. It is the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom and its exceptional diversity and quality of fynbos is protected in the 18,000 hectares core section of the reserve, kept completely pristine and wild.

The reserve begins in the Atlantic Ocean, 7.5 kilometres of a rugged, rocky shore interspersed with glorious, golden sandy beaches. A zigzag ribbon of narrow coastal plain is squeezed between the ocean and huge sandstone mountains. These awesome folded mountains, contorted into deep valleys and high peaks, shelter over 1,880 different species of plants whereof 77 occur nowhere else on Earth.
