Go on a tour of the Southern Africa Large Telescope (SALT)  and indulge in a traditional Karoo lunch in Sutherland. Karoo food has a distinct heritage, dating back to the trekboere (nomadic pastoralists) of the 1700s. They made their way across the vast Karoo with livestock and covered wagons and their cuisine was all about mobility and opportunism. Late afternoon can be spent on the Ouberg Pass for sundowners or stroll through Sutherland.

In the evening, you can join an astronomer for a night-sky viewing with a telescope.
