Giants Castle, also known as “the flower of the Drakensberg’, is in a fairly central part of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site, and offers plenty to do for the outdoor enthusiast, and for those who are just seeking somewhere to soak up the pure beauty and tranquility of the area.

A guided tour of the Main Caves Museum, with part authentic and part reconstructed Bushman scenes, is virtually obligatory for all visitors to the reserve. As is the vulture hide, which offers a unique opportunity to view and photograph endangered vulture species, such as the bearded vulture and the Cape vulture.

The Giants Castle Reserve has various self catering accommodation options, overlooking the Bushmans River. Plus a fully licensed restaurant, for those days when you don’t want to cook.
