Extensive running trails on offer, which is a must for nature-lovers at Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve.

Scenic Klipriviersberg was declared a nature reserve in 1984 to protect an area of archaeological, historical, cultural and geological interest. Eagle-eyed runners may spot any number of antelope including Red hartebeest, Black wildebeest, Springbok, Duiker and Mountain reedbuck, or indulge in the occasional bout of fast-paced ‘twitching’ should you be an avid birder.

Silent Pool, at the Frandaph Drive entrance, is the focus of many urban legends, including a story of a stolen car driven into the seemingly bottomless hole to then ‘disappear without a trace’. The real mystery is that the level of the water in Silent Pool never drops, regardless of how dry the season is. When you get there, the reserve has a network of trails to be explored.

The reserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset for those who wish to go on a self-guided ramble. Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve offers extensive running trails which is a must for nature-lovers.
