The beach at Buffels Bay is a gorgeous blue-flag beach, which is a certification by the Foundation for Environmental Education, meaning that the beach is clean, secure and most importantly environmentally safe. Holidaymakers can thus rest assured that their little ones can play and enjoy the beach with added security.
The beach is characterised by dune fields, coastal fynbos, and a forest that flanks the long white sands. It is in close proximity to the Goukamma Nature Reserve, so you can combine your beach stroll with a nature walk through the reserve. Furthermore, it is a popular spot for swimming, surfing, sun-tanning, snorkelling, fishing, canoeing, and various other water activities.
If you’re lucky, you can spot dolphins throughout the year and Southern Right Whales frequenting the area between May and November.
