National Parks and Game Lodge Accommodation in South Africa

Our official definition of a lodge is an accommodation facility located in natural surroundings, such as private game reserves, national parks and nature reserves. The rates charged are usually inclusive of an experience offered at the lodge, ie. game drives, battlefield tours, etc.

Accommodation offered at game lodges ranges from rustic self-catering bush camps to fully catered 5-star lodges. In general, food and beverage services are provided for all meals. Generally speaking, lodges tend towards the luxury side of the market.

South African National Parks accommodation is usually quite simple and unpretentious, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Mostly they will consist of various styles of chalet, house, hut or tent with full catering facilities.

SAN Parks accommodation is very family-friendly and almost every park has at least one wheelchair-accessible chalet. Usually there will be a restaurant as well as an on-site grocery store, selling at least the basics.
