Zwartberg View Mountain Lodge is the perfect departure point from which to explore the Swartberg Mountains and surrounding area. With lots of outdoor activities and attractions on offer, this accommodation in Oudtshoorn offers guests a splendid time in nature.
Zwartberg View Mountain Lodge is located on a working farm, which has a few great activities on offer, such as swimming, hiking, reading on your deck, watching the animals, and enjoying the scenery. You will most likely see animals such as zebra, various species of antelope and some birdlife.
The Vergelegen Road upon which Zwartberg View Mountain Lodge is situated leads one directly to the R328 and one of the most highly sought after circular routes in South Africa, down the Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert, through Meiringspoort and de Rust and back home to the lodge, in time for sundowners and a fantastic dinner.
A mere 15 minutes from the lodge, the town of Oudtshoorn has a range of fun activities on offer, such as a visit to the Cango Caves. Along the same route you’ll encounter ostrich farms, wine estates and endangered species breeding units, which are all worth a visit.
Zwartberg has a great selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options served in the main lodge. Dinner and drinks can be enjoyed under the starry sky of the wilderness, with the peaceful sounds of nature as background noise.
Please note that Zwartberg’s dinners are a set menu, usually served around 7pm. They also encourage their guests to interact with each other. All of their meat comes off the fire, but they do cater for vegetarians and vegans upon prior arrangement.
