Wildlife Safaris and Guided Walks
Experienced guides conduct day and night game viewing in open safari vehicles through the private game reserve that allow guests to see some of the country’s most beautiful wildlife up close.
The park boasts sightings of kudu, zebra, giraffe and smaller mammals, as well as predators like caracal, brown hyena, African wild dog and lions, which are kept in a separate enclosure as part of the Panthera Leo Gene Preservation Project.
Nature lovers can also enjoy guided bush walks and excursions ascending “Witkop” for afternoon sundowners and African sunsets in a predator-free zone of the reserve.
Birding Safari
Zwahili Private Game Lodge is a haven for avid birders with over 400 species of African birds including rare sightings such as lizard buzzard and brown snake eagle. During game drives and bushwalks, the guides will delight in pointing them out to guests.
The world-renowned Nylsvley bird sanctuary is in close proximity to the reserve and a must visit for enthusiastic birdwatchers. This reserve has over 370 species of birds, of which 100 species are water fowl. During the peak flood season over 80 000 birds can be seen in the reserve. Guests can visit the Nylsvley Reserve on a self-drive basis, or a half day excursion can be arranged from the lodge.
