The streets of Yellowwood Park are named after SA birdlife such as the Kestrel.

It is located approximately 14 km southwest of central Durban. Having abundant birdlife, the streets of this suburb are named after birds such as Lark Lane, Wren Way and Kestrel Road.

Yellowwood Park has a slow, village life feel, surrounded by what looks and feels like a garden. Nearby is the Kenneth Stainbank Nature Reserve, which is a beautiful area of coastal riverine forest and bush grassland where zebra and buck can be spotted.

The reserve also has a 5–10 km mountain bike trail, depending on whether you’re able to handle the technical bits or not. The trail starts from the parking lot and loops up to the entrance gate along an open jeep track, climbing steadily for about 1.5km.
