Wolmaransstad is a productive maize farming and alluvial diamond mining area. Wolmaransstad was founded in 1891 on the banks of the Makwasi River, named after a prominent councilman of the time, J Wolmarans.

Today, the town of Wolmaransstad is often visited by diamond buyers looking to buy the uncut gems on auction at the Diamond Exchange.

For the adventure seeker Lindbergh Private Game Reserve, a popular filming location, offers exciting mountain biking routes on jeep tracks. It is often called the 'Jewel of South Africa’s North West', and is set on 5 000 ha of wide-open savannah plains, dotted with magnificent acacias and abounding in wildlife.

As there are no dangerous animals in the Lindbergh Private Game Reserve, all the roads are there for you to explore.
