Kenton on Sea's coast is a maze of rocky coves and warm rock pools, especially at low tide. There's a small beach, set between two rocky headlands, that's almost guaranteed to be deserted during the week. You'll find it situated between the main beach and Bushmans River mouth in the Eastern Cape.

There are plenty of small, secluded beaches and little pools that are a delight to explore with a fishing net and bucket. The enclosing reefs form a safe and mostly calm swimming area, so it's a really great place to laze around and soak up the freedom. Other water activities include fishing, snorkeling if you have the gear, bodyboarding and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP).

The Bushmans and the Kariega Rivers are ideal spots for boating or kayaking, as the waters are calm and beautiful. Houses line the banks of the Bushmans River, so if you’re on holiday in the area, you’ll mostly find a great house to rent on the river.
