Hiking

Choose from short trails, like the Yellowwood and Oribi Trails, which are easy to follow and are close to the resort. Or Tackle slightly longer trails with the family like the 2 km Alpine Cascades Trail, following the blue footprint markers. For the more adventurous, and fit walker, there are longer trails like the Alpine Signature Hike, which must be booked in advance. This trail promises to take your breath away with its viewpoints, bushman painting site, Cape vulture colony over the 10.5-hour route.

Sport and Leisure

The Alpine Heath Resort is home to a variety of sport and recreational activities catering to all ages. A fun game of putt-putt at the 18-hole course is a great way to spend an afternoon with the family. The sport and leisure zone offers the diversion of a game of table tennis, with the tennis courts not too far away for more of a challenge. 

For young guests, there is a Kids Zone, where exciting entertainment awaits children of all ages. Activities range from arts and crafts, indoor gaming, to outdoor climbing frames.

Horse Riding

This property has an Equestrian Centre for interaction with horses. All outrides are conducted under the supervision of a professional guide. These scenic excursions pass streams and hills and can include a romantic picnic with the Drakensberg as the backdrop. Horse riding classes are conducted for beginners and there’s the option of a Horse Play Program, where guests can feed and groom these incredible animals. Little ones will delight in the scheduled pony rides.

Mountain Biking

Whizz around the pristine valley by mountain bike, through biking trails that range from beginner, intermediate and technical trails. The beginner trails have gentle gradients and follow the path to Twin Streams and back. The technical trails, on the other hand, have flowing contour trails, passing waterfall caves, river crossings and much more to excite the inner daredevil.
