Jacobsbaai beach is in close proximity to Saldanha and offers visitors an array of beaching activities, including kite surfing, diving and kayaking.
The coastline is beautifully conserved and the peacefulness that comes with an enclosed beach is amazing.
Explore the various rock pools, go for a swim or charter a boat and get out onto the ocean.
A word of caution: if you are planning on diving for crayfish, note that you need a permit and will be fined heavily if caught without one.
Tietiesbaai beach is popular amongst locals and travellers, and is great for camping.
The Saldanha Nature Reserve, located on a peninsula at the north western end of Saldanha Bay, is inside the military naval base grounds. It is accessible to the general public via the boom gates at the entrance to the military academy. The reserve has exceptional sea views and the rocks and vegetation combine for a beautiful setting.
The bike riding is easy as it is mostly flat. Trail markings are not very clear, as they are very old and broken, however it is easy to work out where to go as there are a few rocky outcrops to use as markers and then the sea is right there so you can't go wrong.
