Bosveld Creations: The Information Centre in the main street is also home to the Art Factory, filled with arts and crafts made by locals, displaying leatherwork, ironwork, pottery, paintings and other local curios.

Bosveld Scuba: Dive (or snorkel) in a fairytale dolomite hole where the water is crystal clear and beautiful water lilies’ stems trail down to the bottom of the pool, carpeted with plant life. You’ll also see various species of fish and the viz is often more than 20 m.

Bosveld Tales: Experience the Herman Charles Bosman Living Museum in Karee Street; it looks exactly like the local school at which Bosman taught in 1926.

Bosveld Escape: Head for the pecan nut/citrus estate of Macolebi with its beautiful river frontage to get away from it all. Go fishing, hiking, mountain biking or even try your hand at bush golf.

Bosveld Bites: Try the Croc Inn for a bite with a difference. At this licensed pub and restaurant, which overlooks the natural crocodile-breeding dam you can watch the crocs while dining on the deck.

Bosveld Cranking: As you draw nearer to the Riverbend Guest Farm on Draaifontein Farm, you’ll know that you and your MTB have arrived! Beautiful kloofs and thick vegetation with abundant water crossings await against a backdrop of pristine rolling hills.

Bosveld ‘Dop’: If mampoer is strong enough, it bursts into flames if you put a match to it! This homemade brandy distilled from fruit is renowned for its high potency (the alcohol content is usually well over 50%) and takes its name from Pedi chief Mampuru. Several farms still operate pot stills and can be visited for a tasting session.

Bosveld Water Sports: Marico Bushveld Dam (Riekertsdam) is a lovely water sports venue where fishing, skiing and sailing is the name of the game.
