Standerton is an agricultural town situated on the banks of the Vaal River in Mpumalanga. Named after the original land owner of the town, Adriaan Hendrik Stander, Standerton specialises in cattle, dairy, maize and poultry farming.
The mighty Vaal River flows through Standerton, allowing for thriving agriculture. The river also hosts some really wonderful fishing, luring people from all over to enjoy the sport. Other attractions in the area include the ruins of Chief Mzilikazi's Village, Kruger Bridge, Standerskop Nature Reserve and Grootdraai Dam.
