Morning Game Drives
After an early wake-up call, you will start your day with a light breakfast before you embark on your morning game viewing experience. The reserve is home to the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo), as well as wild dog, giraffes, warthogs, baboons, hyena, waterbuck, hippo, impala, duiker, steenbok, and even cheetah on the most rare occasion.
Afternoon and Evening Game Drives
Set out in the late afternoon on a game drive searching for the game as it comes out of the mid-day shade in search of water and food As the sun sinks down it’s time to slowly head back to camp, searching for the nocturnal bush life. Your tracker will shine a spotlight around the vehicle as you enter deeper into the bush. This is an ideal opportunity to spot nocturnal creatures such as civets, porcupines, bush babies, hyenas, owls and nightjars.
Bush Walks
During this walk, you will be exposed to termite mounds and other unique facets of the bush such as dung, tracks, and hundreds of other species of smaller African animals, and plants that are indigenous to the area. The Sabi Sands offers outstanding bird watching too. Keep an eye out for vultures, bee-eaters, rollers, eagles, bustards, hornbills and starlings.
