The Dome was shaped two billion years ago when a colossal meteorite struck the earth to create a massive crater. Rated as one of SA’s first World Heritage Sites, this geological wonder world offers superb hiking, bird watching, bouldering and mountain biking within an ecologically distinctive biome.

The lush swathe cut by the mighty Vaal River adds options such as fishing, canoeing, rafting and access to a range of camping, self-catering and B&B accommodation establishments.

Potchefstroom is home to a number of historical attractions, such as early 20th century buildings, a Dutch Reformed Church and the well-known Oak Avenue, which comprises beautiful and large oak trees that line one of the town’s streets.
