Named after a farm that was in turn named after Attorney General of the Cape (William Porter), Porterville, to this day, maintains its long-held farming tradition. 

Known for the iconic and one of the rarest flowers, the Disa Uniflora. Porterville is also home to the must-see Porterville Wine Cellar, which is on the Swartland Wine Route. These attractions form a part of an array of significant sites worth visiting Porterville.
