Nottingham Road, set amidst the green and undulating Midlands hills of the KwaZulu-Natal Province, is about 60 km from Pietermaritzburg.

The little town is blessed with fly-fishing dams and streams, dairy farms, horse stud and the occasional section of verdant forest. Warm summers and mild to chilly winters mean occasional snowfalls, but this only adds to the town’s attraction.

Visitors (and there are many of those) trek to this beautiful corner of South Africa to experience its old-world charm, replete with country taverns and traditional, family farmsteads. Situated less than half an hour from the Drakensberg foothills, you can enjoy an eclectic mix of arts, crafts, outdoor adventures and restaurants, or snuggle up in front of the fire whilst sampling local treats in the heart of the Midlands.
