En route from Muldersdrift to nearby Sterkfontein Caves.

Muldersdrift is a popular place for a weekend break away from the fast-paced city life of Johannesburg and Pretoria. Being only half an hour drive away, it’s the perfect escape destination.

There are plenty of guest houses, spas, great art and craft shops to peruse, restaurants and many more places to visit and activities to try in the Muldersdrift area.

The landscape offers great terrain for various mountain biking trails of different intensities and difficulties. The hard-pack roads and paths, all with relatively gentle gradients and a range of ride configurations, makes for an excellent intro to the sport of mountain biking.

Northern Farm rates as one of Johannesburg’s better-known mountain biking destinations, with a wide range of routes, thus making it suited to just about all levels of riders. A bonus is that many dams and irrigation channels are close to the Jukskei River which means that you may be lucky enough to hear or even see the rare African Fish Eagle.
