Quintessential Seaside Village

Melkbosstrand is a quintessential seaside village situated 35 km outside of Cape Town on the West Coast. The town is a popular destination for holidaymakers, looking to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the beach, while soaking up the sun.

The town is also of historical importance as it is where the invading British troops landed in 1806 and, soon after, in the Battle of Blaauwberg, they took the Cape from the Batavian Republic.

The town is also home to the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station, which boasts the largest turbine generators in the Southern Hemisphere. It is surrounded by the Koeberg Nature Reserve. Other attractions include quaint seaside restaurants, charming locals and lots of beach activities.
