The Marakele National Park covers the most impressive section of the Waterberg range, rolling out across the bushveld to the north. It’s a bit of a drive, but once you get there you’ll not want to leave.
The tented camp is set in a glade on the curve of a stream, in among the witgat trees (shepherds tree), and each tent has been erected on its own platform. The camp feels very secret, very hidden away and is completely child-friendly.
The camp consists of safari tents, each with a bathroom on a raised deck, well situated under the shade of riverine trees. The park vegetation varies from forested gorges on the southern side of the mountains to protea veld on top of the range and wild bushveld in the north, and there's game aplenty including elephant and big cats.
