Komatipoort is a great spot for game viewing, as herds of grazing game pass through and in turn, they attract big predators such as lion and wild dog. The rivers also harbour in an abundance of birdlife that thrives along these waters along with the hippos and crocodiles.

Komatipoort is just a drive away from the Kruger National Park, making access to game drives in the South African bushveld very easy. The confluence coursing through Komatipoort also offers fishing on guided boat tours, while easy river walks amidst the beautiful nature gets you outdoors to enjoy the scenery. Day trips from Komatipoort include a drive to the neighbouring countries of Swaziland and Mozambique.

For those looking to relax, a 9 hole golf course is situated down the river with horse riding, biking and various accommodation options available for overnight stays and camping. Komatipoort is a malaria-free zone, making it a safe visit for families with children.
