The Klaserie Private Game Reserve with 60 000 hectares of African wilderness, is one of the largest privately owned reserves in South Africa. Klaserie is committed to conserving this environment and African wildlife. They have initiated several projects to educate the local community.
Eco children is one such initiative, which focuses on the environment and on education through a whole school development approach. Klaserie hosts the Ground Hornbill Project, which is sponsored by the Fitzpatrick Institute of African Ornithology and is also involved in two other research projects, being: elephant research with Save the Elephants and the Tembo project, which studies buffalo.
Within Klaserie Private Game Reserve there is a choice of accommodation types from rustic bush camps to luxury game lodges, all offering to minimise the human footprint in the endeavour of maintaining a pristine wilderness for future generations.
