Scenic view of the Karoo National Park.

Founded in 1979, the park is home to a multitude of game, reptiles and birds; and visitors can choose from a range of activities. Diverse succulent plants and small shrubs make up the flora of the park, and the Nuweveld Mountains create a dramatic backdrop for the vast rolling plains of the park.

Of particular interest is the Fossil Trail, which takes visitors on a journey back in time, sharing a greater understanding of the geological history of the Karoo and the creatures that used to roam there.
