Joubertina was established in 1907 on a piece of Eastern Cape farmland. Today Joubertina is the main town of Langkloof farm; nestled in the Kouga mountains, the Baviaanskloof mountains, and the Tsitsikamma Mountain Range.
The first building in Joubertina was the Dutch Reformed Church in 1911; the building was done in sandstone and yellowwood. The Kloof Hotel and the Hotel Tavern have great historical significance; the Hotel Tavern also has a display of over 1000 miniature car models.
Other than the historical significance, Joubertina has 30-odd mountain bike and hiking trails. The bike trails take a few hours to a few days and experienced mountain climbers will enjoy The Peak Formosa.
