Agricultural Activities

Thohoyandou is surrounded by agricultural lands including banana plantings.

Although the former homeland known as Venda does not have a well-developed tourism infrastructure, this is a fascinating part of the country. With a rich cultural history, the region is just waiting to be explored.

Agriculture is the main industry of Thohoyandou, with vast tracts of cultivated land flourishing in the subtropical climate. Banana plantations stretch along the roads, with the ripening fruit protected by blue plastic bags. Tobacco and maize also grows in abundance here.
