Shelley Point borders onto Britannia Bay in the south, St Helena Bay to the north and, because of its fantastic climate, lends itself to all forms of sea sports and activities.
It is a beautiful part of the world, this previously undiscovered coastline, that boasts an abundance of crayfish, abalone, mussels, dolphins, cormorants, the rare oystercatcher and little to break the miles of white, sandy beaches other than a few fishing villages.
If you’re heading up the West Coast, make sure to stop over at Shelley Point for the perfect beach day. The peaceful sound of the waves, warm sand and natural beauty will entice any holiday-maker.
Water sports include bodyboarding, stand up paddle boarding, sailing and even swimming (if you dare to brace the cold water!). Fishing is also a popular past time, as well as leisure walks along the shoreline.
Diving and snorkelling is allowed in the area as well, so get your gear and head out to explore the abundant marine life. Kids can play in the shallow water, or walk along the sand and look for exquisite sea shells to take home.
