Walks and Bird Watching

The Reserve boasts many bird species such as the Bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus), also known as the Lammergeier.

Mount Currie Nature Reserve is a beautiful little reserve and the only protected area in East Griqualand. The reserve is filled with history, with an historic laager site surrounded by graves of early pioneers. Old cattle tracks and little paths dot the reserve and make for wonderful walks and bird-watching opportunities in a tranquil, scenic setting.
