Spend a day at Sibuya Game Reserve and see an array of stunning wildlife.

Sibuya Game Reserve offers fantastic day trips into the reserve where visitors can see an array of stunning wildlife and birdlife. A cruise up the Kariega River is followed by a game drive, where you see lions, elephants, giraffes and zebras. A delicious cold buffet lunch is then served on the banks of the river. A sunset cruise back to Kenton-on-Sea ends the day on a high note.

Walking Trails

If you are the adventurous type, you might be more interested in a day trip with physical activities to enjoy. If you drive just outside the resort town on your way to Grahamstown, you’ll find the Assegaai Trails, which offers a beautiful series of routes that will challenge and delight avid hikers.

There are 35 km of hiking trails through the nature reserve, some of it alongside the Assegaai River. The four hiking trails vary in difficulty, so choose the one you feel most comfortable with. The trails run through a privately-owned farm littered with interesting vegetation and smaller animals like antelope, so although the area is predator-free, it is best to stay on the marked trails. If you're a tree fanatic, then the 1 km Assegaai Tree Trail will have you enthralled.
