An Executive's Playground

Stretching from the port of Durban to eZimbokodweni is the hub of industry in Durban and KwaZulu-Natal, known as the South Durban Basin. Here you will find two petrochemical refineries, a paper mill, motor manufacturers and about 5 000 businesses.

The port of Durban operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. It has a modern multi-purpose terminal, which handles bulk and container cargoes. It has South Africa's largest import and export facility for the motor industry. The Maydon Wharf terminal handles a variety of niche commodities for example salt, fertilisers, steel and forest products.

There is a passenger terminal for cruise ships, which operate from November and May. There is also a yachting marina that serves both the Point Yacht Club and the Royal Natal Yacht Club. Durban City is an executive's playground with its internationally acclaimed convention centre, top class hotels, art galleries and nightlife. Add the great beaches, nature, eclectic mix of cultures into the mix and you have the perfect tourist destination too.
