Located on a rocky outcrop, Boulders Bush Lodge is a postcard-perfect place to stop off for a few nights on your next Kruger Park self-drive safari.
If you’d like to snap up a few guided activities during your Kruger Park self-drive safari, early morning and late afternoon guided drives can be arranged at the reception area of Mopane Rest Camp nearby. If you’re up for ambling out on foot, bush walks are also available. These excursions focus largely on the surrounding flora and smaller creatures of the bush like reptiles, insects, and birds. Without the hum and rumble of the 4x4 engine, bush walks are an excellent opportunity for twitchers to flex their birdwatching muscles.
Back at Boulders Bush Lodge, safari groups can get in some excellent game viewing and photographic opportunities right from the main viewing deck which overlooks the waterhole. Since the camp remains unfenced, you’ll encounter a range of curious creatures venturing up a little closer — think families of passing ellies and spiral-horned nyala looking for good grazing. Those sunrises and sunsets are the stuff of pure magic and miracles so make sure to get enough of those in while you’re at it.
