Activities in Ballito range from indoor leisure to fun outdoor experiences.

The Sugar Rush Park is a great experience for kids, which will entertain them with a kids activity zone. The park has over 150 mountain bike and running trails that’s suitable for novice riders and runners. The Flag Animal Farm is a wonderful outing for the whole family, and kids can have fun with pony rides, a chance to feed chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs and more.

Zimbali Golf Estate is great for any beginner or professional golfer looking to sink some golf balls surrounded by scenic nature. The Ballito tidal pool is a fun experience for all ages, and brims with sea life, which swimmers/visitors should be mindful and protective of. The main beach is great for swimming, sunbathing and entertaining the kids for a day out splashing in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. If you’re lucky (and the season is right), you may even see dolphins frollocing in the waves, a huge Humpback or even a Southern right whale.

Fishermen will be happy to know that there are various deep sea charters that will take you out for the day on a fun ocean fishing excursion. If you prefer, try your luck on the shoreline by casting your line in the early morning.

There are various heritage routes tourists can follow, such as the King Shaka Heritage Route, which includes High Rock, Observation Rock and Shakas Trees. Holla mountain biking trails will take you along farms in the Ballito and Upper Tongaat regions, providing you with amazing scenery.
