For those on a leisure vacation, taking a charter from the harbour will allow you the experience the Great Blue while relaxing on the deck with your fishing rod in hand. Angling is a popular pastime in Struis Bay, and can be done from either a boat or the beach. Big game fish like yellowtail, steenbras, black and striped marlin roam the waters of the coast, so be sure to throw your hook in!

If fishing is not your forté you can book a pleasure trip or champagne sunset cruise for you and your loved ones that will be nothing short of breathtaking.

Struis Bay is home to the longest stretch of beach in the southern hemisphere, which is a must-see if you are an avid beach goer. The warm waters allow for great swimming, surfing and bodyboarding opportunities, as well as stand-up paddle boarding and sea kayaking. You can spend your days tanning on the beach, having picnics or going for a leisurely stroll. Diving is also a very popular sport in the area due to the rich marine life on display.

Hiking in the Struis Bay area is perfect for novice hikers who want to explore the coastline and its wonderful displays of natural landscapes. Following the shore route, you’ll be taken into the hills of Agulhas, which offer spectacular views of the ocean. The Spookdraai (Ghost turn) trail in L’Agulhas is a popular route in the hills that lead from the ocean into natural vegetation. It will provide hikers with a 360-degree view of the town and ocean.

Other than the odd hiking trail, the Agulhas area is home to various nature reserves with splendid walks and hikes available for nature enthusiasts. The Agulhas National Park is the perfect place for a walk that put you back in touch with nature. The park is home to numerous indigenous plant and birdlife, so avid twitchers will have fun spotting birds while on their walk.
