Fishing at Kosi Bay is a real treat. The estuary and the lakes before it are rich in fish life, but the real challenge would be to join a local Tsonga person and try to catch fish with their reed traps.
Not far from the mouth of the Kosi Estuary, Tsonga people are still using fishing technology developed hundreds of years ago: fences are built at right angles to the flow of the water and the shoreline to guide the fish into an enclosure where they are caught.
Any stay in the Kosi Bay Nature Reserve combines relaxation with water, be it fishing, swimming, snorkelling or simply watching the birds come and go.
