Vilakazi Street - quite possibly the most widely-known street in Soweto - is famous for being home to two of South Africa’s most famous figures, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.
Other noteworthy attractions to see in Soweto include the Hector Pieterson Museum and Mandela House, as well as a host of shops and restaurants that offer visitors a taste of traditional South African cuisine.
Lesedi Cultural Village gives guests insight into the traditional lifestyles of various cultures of South Africa. The tour includes a walk through traditional dwellings, as well as a demonstration of dances and song.

The Johannesburg Bunny Park is a fun experience for young children from ages 3 - 10 as it is one of the few places that allows visitors to feed the animals. Pack up the kids and take a blanket and a picnic basket (take carrots and lettuce for the animals) and make a day of it.
Farm animals roam freely including cows, donkeys, goats, chickens and rabbits. This is a great place for kids to view these farm animals at close range.
