Dr Tlou Masehela is currently employed as a Scientist at the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), and leads the programme of work that focuses on monitoring and reporting on the impacts of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) on the environment.
He is also the current Chairman of the Western Cape Bee Industry Association (WCBA) and holds a PhD in Entomology from Stellenbosch University. Tlou’s work and interests covers apiculture, crop pollination, conservation and biosafety.
He is also passionate about Educational Outreach Programmes and his talks are based on the subject of insect pollinators such as honey bees.
