Doringpoort Safari Lodge is conveniently located close to numerous attractions of Mpumalanga, and guests are spoilt for choice in terms of wildlife spotting. Situated in the beautiful Marloth Park, lodgers have the opportunity to relax in nature on the premises or take a drive out to Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route, Swaziland or Mozambique.
Marloth Park is a wildlife sanctuary and holiday town on 3 000ha, boasting four of the Big Five with the exception of elephant in the neighbouring Lionspruit (1 500ha) game reserve.
Game such as kudu, zebra, giraffe, blue wildebeest, nyala, impala, warthog, ostrich and other small game aren't restricted by fences and roam freely inside Marloth Park. We also have a rich and abundant bird life. Be sure not to miss the smaller species of our amazing wildlife such as tortoises, lizards and plantlife.
Guests can enjoy a hike through the park, or mountain bike along a scenic trail where you’ll spot wildlife in their natural bushveld habitat. They can also walk along the Crocodile River, and watch spectacular wildlife scenes in the adjacent Kruger National Park.
The friendly staff at Doringpoort lodge will be happy to arrange a sunrise, sunset or night game drive through the park. There are 145 different mammals and over 500 bird species to see, such as the famous Big 5, zebra, giraffe, hippo, African wild dog, kudu and rheebok. Guided walks in predator-free zones are also available, as well as a self-drive option.
For guests wanting to explore the area, Doringpoort can arrange day tours to the scenic Panorama Route to view gorgeous natural attractions such as Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, the Three Rondavels and Mac Mac waterfall. Day trips to the neighbouring countries of Swaziland and Mozambique are available.
