Carla Lottering is a passionate writer and journalist at Recently graduating with a National Diploma in Journalism from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Carla prides herself on being a creative thinker and occasional wordsmith. She is a born and bred Capetonian, and has always wanted to be a writer.

One of her earliest achievements was placing second in the Short Story Day Africa Youth Writing Competition, which led to her first published short story, featured in the anthology: Follow the Road (2014).

At South Africa Online ® Carla fulfils the role of digital content writer - working on content relating to South Africa and the content management of the website. In her free time, she enjoys writing fiction, painting and hiking. She lives and works by the words of Terry Pratchett; “the first draft is just you telling yourself the story”.
