Victoria West is a little Northern Cape village with Victorian-era architecture and loads of Karoo charm. Established in 1843 and named after Queen Victoria of England, it is a flourishing Karoo town nestled amongst Moonlight Hill and the Victoria West Mountain. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, open and wild with rough mountains and stony plains, saltpans and sand.

Tourists making their way through the Upper Karoo should definitely make a stop at Victoria West and explore the little town’s history and culture. During spring, the area bursts with beautiful displays of flowers, specifically daisies, that breaks the traditional Karoo scenery of arid, desert-like conditions.
