Kuils River is a town in the Western Cape, which lies at the foot of the Bottelary Mountain slopes. It is an easy 30 minute drive from the bustling Cape Town city centre and even closer to Cape Town International Airport.
Kuils River is attracting visitors that want to escape the bustle of city living in a slightly more rural setting but still be close to the city to enjoy its many attractions.
There are a few historic examples of old church buildings, a theatre and some old cow crossings that serve as testimony to its rural setting dating back to the 1700's. Kuils River is referred to as the gateway to some of the Cape wine routes and boasts the Zevenwacht Wine Estate with its gentle farm activities on the Bottelary hills. This also lies on the edge of the Stellenbosch wine route.
Kuils River is also growing industrial activities with some large manufacturers making it their home, still it has kept a calm and natural environment. The CBD is uncommercialised as no major freeways run through it although it has easy access to the N1 and N2 freeways. These manufacturers along with farming sustain the Kuils River area.
