Kirstenbosch Gardens covers five different biomes and display plants from various regions.

Kirstenbosch, or more notably, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, is one of Cape Town’s most important environmental areas. Focused on the cultivation of Southern Africa’s indigenous flora, the gardens cover five different biomes and display plants from various regions including fynbos, savannah and the Karoo amongst others.

Set against the slopes of Devil's Peak, the park has both a "cultivated" and a wild aspect, where visitors to the gardens can enjoy many activities such as a 130 m long tree-top walkway, gorgeous picnic spots, guided tours and hiking.

On Sundays during the summer months from December to March, musical sunset concerts are held on the lawns at Kirstenbosch. Craft markets are also held at the Stone Cottages (opposite Kirstenbosch) on the last Sunday of every month (except June, July and August).
